For many designers, the sky is the last frontier – a personal quest to reinvent the modern skyscraper with a more impressive design. As we celebrated National Skyscraper day last week, Google gave us an astonishing street view tour of the tallest building in the world: the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, standing tall at 2,717 feet and 163 floors. According to NDTV, National Skyscraper Day is celebrated every year on September 3, on the birth anniversary of Louis H. Sullivan, often called the ‘father of modern skyscrapers’. The term ‘skyscraper’ originated in the United States in the late 1880s.
